...attempting planking

After wiping off the bird muck, (I'm not that hardcore) I had a go at planking on this raised manhole in the fields where we walk the puppy. Badger was much more interested in chasing the bunnies than in me trying a tricky maneuver.

Sam told me an Aussie had died after planking on a balcony, crazy stuff. My friend, Jemma & her friend managed to double plank on a table which might not be the trickiest of locations but looked pretty impressive!
Where's the craziest place you've planked or seen someone planking?

...deciding that bank holidays rock!

...googling a burlesque dancer I had the pleasure of seeing at a retro revival party on Saturday night. Beau Rocks more than lives up to her name.

Her cheeky, flirty burlesque act, almost made me forget about my girl crush on Beatrix Von Bourbon

I fell in love with Beatrix after seeing her perform her winter act, absolutely stunning.

...eating Da Marios pizza. For a while now my friends, Sara & Harry have been raving about this lovely little authentic Italian place that makes the best italian pizza in a traditional oven. Now all of my friends have heard me bleat on and on about how noone makes pizzas like my Zia Amarosa in Benevento with her stone oven. She has so ruined me with her light, fluffy pizza dough that I had given up on eating pizzas in England, especially takeaways like dominoes.

Until now! I had a margarita & it was exactly like how my Zia makes it. I thought I'd gone to heaven. So did Sam, when he tucked into his marinara pizza.
So thanks to Sara & Harry, we are both advocates of Da Marios & I can eat pizzas again.

...fantasising about having the courage to let my hair go grey

...fantasising about having the courage to let my hair go grey.

American Vogue
I noticed my first grey hairs at only 19 and they have been multiplying very slowly and steadily for over 10 years now. While I didn't need to start dying my hair really until the last few years, I got into the habit after experimenting with highlights. As my hair is so dark, highlights never seem to give it the sun-kissed look I'm aiming for, it only ever ends up looking a bit ginger. But not a stunning red-flamed ginger more of a mottled moggy ginger.

As much as I would love to ditch the dye & embrace the grey, I do think it can look quite severe and is quite hard to carry off. Kristen does a wonderful job which gives me hope that one day...

...looking at this little face

For today I am...

My cockapoo Badger has spent most of the day snoozing in bed with us, mainly on our heads.

...watching bad telly on the iplayer as moving to the lounge would require simply way more effort than I can muster.

...wearing mostly my dressing gown, as it's taken until 4pm to have a bath but isn't that what bank holidays are for.

...listening to If you're feeling sinister by Belle and Sebastian on 6 music and to Badger squeaking at me, which, as his tummy is full, I can only deduce means it's time for walkies.

...discovering that left-handed people are more fearful than right-handed people which reaffirms why I won't let my left-handed twin sister watch the Exorcist.

...reading the Independent from Saturday, with Royal Wedding artwork from Tracy Emin and lots of comments about Pippa's backside. Who would have thought that would be the most memorable sight from the day?

...learning how difficult it is to come up with a blog name.
