...playing the waiting game

I am so glad that my twin and my sister ignored my reservations and threw me a surprise baby shower. It was so lovely to have the opportunity to see some of my oldest and closest friends all in the same place before the baby is born.

My reticence was that I have not seen some of them for so long and I would be embarrassed to then get presents. But it was such a lovely surprise and I was actually speechless and went very red to be the centre of attention, very unlike me.

We played games, who would have thought so many celebs have called their babies Beau and Axl? And the nicest part for me was reading the wish notes that my friends had written for the baby and I. I can only wish that my baby has friends as fab as you all.

Rainbow cupcake

And the cupcakes which match the nursery were a lovely touch, thanks twinny.

I am now on maternity leave and the Liz Lean PR girls gave me a great send off with an even greater spread.

Any excuse for cake! I am really going to miss my girls x

...resting up

After days and days of rain the sun shone on Saturday. We took Badger for a walk, basking in its warm rays before going to the newly renovated Kings Head for tea and cake.

Returning home we watched Frances Ha while I bounced on my yoga ball to ease the aches of the growing baby. At 36 weeks there really isn't a lot of room left for it but it still finds a way to squirm around.

Here we are waiting an hour and a half for the consultant to see us. Fun, fun, fun.

The boys weren't too impressed with Frances Ha. It had good moments and a fab supporting cast but I found it hard to like the main character - nobody is perfect but she didn't even seem to try.

It was a much needed relaxing day. I hope you are having a good weekend too x

...decorating the nursery

We are starting to make some headway with the nursery, finally.

Here are a few pics...

Flopsy bunny is tired from helping Sam build the cot.

Here is the mobile that Sam and I made out of felt for the baby.

Badger couldn't resist having a good bark at it once it was up.

Time to start painting...Have a relaxing Sunday x

...taking the decorations down

Ok that might be a little white lie as technically, I didn't take the decorations down. Sam kindly did it all as I am back at work now. But it's strange how I have moved on from Christmas so quickly this year.

It might be because I have a more life changing event to look forward to and we are so not prepared!

Sam's brother Roo and his wife Ray have had their baby three weeks early; Ray had to be induced and had an emergency c section due to pre-eclampsia. Little Oliver Robin is gorgeous, only 4lbs 8ozs but doing really well.

So looking forward to meeting him, he's definitely got his father's nose. Does make me wonder what bits of Sam and what bits of me our baby will have...

Sam is making headway with the nursery and we have lots of plans for the weekend. That's if I make it home as the road I work on, Shore Road in Sandbanks, was closed this morning due to flooding, its all over the Daily Mail.  Here's hoping it stays open until 5.30pm.

Hope you are all keeping dry and staying safe from this crazy weather. Darren Aronofsky couldn't wish for a better PR stunt for his new Noah movie...
